Motifs

• A series of repeating medallions fill out the field in balanced, ornamental details
• Framing the rug is a geometric pattern resembling a comb or set of fingers, which represent protection, especially over marriage or birth. Often seen in kilims from Western Turkey, like Bodrum and Fethiye.

Region of Origin

Anatolia makes up the majority of modern-day Turkey. Rugs from this region are defined by their tribal and geometric designswith plenty of symbols reflecting life from traditional households.

Wool is the most widely used fiber in Turkish rug design. Not only is it plentiful in supply, its durable, long-lasting, and incredibly softso its super comfy to walk and relax on.
